Basic SAS Skills II

This module introduces learners to some of the essential SAS skills that are needed as an analyst. This module focuses on commands to perform statistical analyses and output results, and involves realistic hands-on exercises using simulated administrative health data.

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Use different SAS functions to achieve a specified objective
  • Loop through data to achieve a specified objective
  • Estimate descriptive statistics and run basic regression models
  • Output results to specified destination in specified format
  • De-bug a SAS program

About the author

Chris Filliter is a graduate of the Master of Science program in Community Health and Epidemiology at Dalhousie University. His research interests include health services research, pharmacoepidemiology, and clinical epidemiology.

Chris has been working as an analyst in this field since 2016. He authored this module while working as an analyst with the CNODES CPRD Site located in Montreal.
